Letter from William Plomer to John Betjeman, August 03, 1973 with reply from John Betjeman to William Plomer, August 07, 1973

Part of a collection of letters to John Betjeman from William Plomer (British poet, novelist and literary editor). Plomer writes that there will be a memorial plaque unveiling by the Kilvert Society, on October 14 in Clyro where Kilvert lived. The plaque is made by Simon Verity. Plomer invites Betjeman, on behalf of The Poetry Society, to unveil the plaque. He hopes he will accept the offer. A service for Kilvert will be at 3pm in Llanigon, Wales. Betjeman replies to Plomer that he is currently sick with the flu, but would he be free to meet before September 30 or after October 21. In between that time Betjeman will be away in Cornwall.
