- Anniversary of leaving Deyá Aug 2 Monday Bank Holiday. Wrote 6 pages of Belisarius (and a lot of reading to go with it). Went over 22 pages of Laura's typescript, Letter book . Invented a new game on lawn, two a side: Laura & Norman, Alix & me, putting on the lawn driving a coloured india rubber ball between opposite goals. Feathered another arrow on a small cane shaft bought at Cranleigh – the best arrow for shooting we have. Beer at the pub with Norman. Toothache all but gone.
