Letter from Hughes to John Betjeman, May 07, 1970

Correspondence between John Betjeman and Hughes(?). Hughes informs Betjeman that the decision to demolish the Market Street facade will go ahead. In the end, the Royal Fine Art Commission for Scotland decided that the design of the replacement facade was acceptable. Also enclosed is Betjeman's reply (May 14, 1970): Betjeman replies that he is sad to hear about the decision, but thanks him for letting him know about it.
