- Sat July 2nd No work yet. Walking round the town: and in afternoon by car to PLENLAY, and PAIMPONT where we looked at the village and had tea ( I an eau de vie de cidre at the inn; polished oak & apple wood tables flowered wall paper & everything beautiful in country-rococo taste. Abbey with 15th century angels: men playing skittles with tall blue striped pins and a ball with a grip. Alan sick in car. Laura & I to cinema: where she got depressed (and seats uncomfortable) and we thought of leasing a proper house in the country. Met Dr's sister & brother-in-law from Tours.
