Sooty grouse

A sooty grouse standing on a log. The sooty grouse and the dusky grouse previously considered a single species, the blue grouse. The blue grouse is widely distributed throughout British Columbia, including Vancouver Island and the Queen Charlotte Islands. Its distribution is closely associated with mountains throughout its range. (Family: phasianidae; binomial name: dendragapus fuliginosus).
