Letter from J. R. Ackerley to John Betjeman, December 19, 1944
Part of a collection of letters to John Betjeman from Joe Randolph "J. R." Ackerley (writer and literary editor of the BBC's weekly magazine The Listener, and open homosexual). Ackerley asks Betjeman for an article on a small collection of comics he has. Titles include: "Men, Women and Dogs" by James Thurber, "You're Sitting on my Eye Lashes" by Whitney Darrow, Jr., "Common Man and Colonel Bogus" by Michael Barsley, cartoon "Finale" by Stephen, and cartoons by Osbert Lancaster.
