Fur & feather 28 (1955-12-19) : trumpeters of the north
PublicScience information program for children on animals and birds. Co-hosted by Ian McTaggart-Cowan, Head of UBC Zoology Department and 14 year-old David Maxwell. Dr. Cowan introduced great trumpeter swan, the largest flying bird in North America. He described the physical characteristics, diet, life cycle, and distribution of this supersized bird. He pointed out that it is illegal to shoot swans.
