The Lee Benevolent Association's certificate of incorporation, 1916

This document confirms that "The Lee Benevolent Association" was incorporated as a society in Victoria on 14 July 1916. This clan or family association traces its roots to Lao-tse, the founder of Tao-ism. Lees had arrived in British Columbia since the 1850s and had organized as a clan association in Victoria since the 1880s. The Lee's Benevolent Association built their headquarters at 614 Fisgard Street in 1911. Identifier: Society files No. S452.
