Field, B.C. [British Columbia] Aug [August] 3/44 [1944]
Intermittent sunshine + heavy showers
Drove down to Leanchail + interviewed
Mr Tocher + Mr Nicholson en route.
Both agree that snow on the
ground has, during the past 5 or 6
years, been only 12 to 16 inches at
any one time but 10 years or so
ago it used to be much deeper
3 to 4 ft [feet] upon occassion. [occasion] They agree
that rabbits show little variation
in numbers now.
G In evening Climbed Mt [Mount] Stephen
to the fossil bed.
In afternoon hiked up the Ottertail
as far as the goat hide - 2 miles or so.
Game seen:- 5 moose.
