which 33 were not identified to age + sex
8 were [male symbol]'s 22 [female symbol]'s + 5 fawns.
Average flushing distance 50 yards.
so that this pop. [population] represents a strip 20
miles x 100 yds [yards] = 61 deer p. [per] sq. [square] mile.
Kills:- Found remains of a doe near beaver pond.
Health:- All deer seen were in reasonably
good condition.

Census In patrol to east gate counted
41 deer of which 5 [male symbol] 8 [female symbol] 1 fawn
determined. Braznet said he saw
40 on the meadow in front of his cabin
two nights ago. All seemed to be
in good condition.

Counted 12 deer 6 of them [female symbol]'s there
were 7 of them near lake Edith etc [etcetera]
rest about 5 miles up the J.B. [Jasper - Banff] highway.
Wells reports a very tame buck
attempted to winter near his cabin but
was killed during the winter. He
thought wolves responsible.
