May 25th 1923 Numbers seen flying
in air above house about 8 p.m.
just after a heavy rain storm.
Counted sixteen at one time near by
These were the first seen this year
While watching these birds a sparrow
hawk flew just over the garden (back)
+ then up + over the Russels house.
Sept. [September] 8. 1934 Huntingdon BC [British Columbia] [underlined] A considerable
flight passed our ranch during morning all
moving southward. Estimated 350/500 birds.
Sept. [September] 10/34 [1934] Vancouver B.C. [British Columbia] [underlined] Several seen flying over
city - south bound.
Sept. [September] 11/34 [1934] Huntingdon B.C. [British Columbia] [underlined] Three passed over
ranch early p.m. [evening]
June 22. 1932. Huntingdon B.C. [British Columbia] [underlined] 7 p.m. a flight of 150
over ranch 100/200 ft [feet] in air. Flight lasted about
one hour. Rain morning, fine p.m. [evening]
June 25/32 [1932] Huntingdon B.C. [British Columbia] [underlined] Another flight at 7am
of about 150 birds from S.E [southeast] weather fine + warm.
June 26/32 [1932] Huntingdon B.C. [British Columbia] [underlined] Flight again appeared
at 7am. from the S.E. [southeast] The birds remained
about all morning. Last seen about 12.30 p.m.
Aug. [August] 11. 1932 Vancouver B.C. [British Columbia] [underlined] Numerous B. [black] swift
flying over Kitsilano. Many of them very low
+ down below telephone wires.
Alta Lake B.C. [British Columbia] Aug. [August] 29. 1937. [underlined] Mrs. Racey + I saw five of these
birds flying directly south during afternoon.
North Vancouver [underlined] B.C. [British Columbia] May [space left blank] 1938. Saw several
about in bush [words crossed out] flying over tree tops above Queens
Road.
Vancouver B.C. [British Columbia] June 9. 1938 Two flying above
house, 7a.m.
