Dear Sir:
Your letter of the 19th instant at hand and contents noted.
We have gone over our own records as well as those from both
our State Prisons, but have failed to find the name of J.B. Creelman or
W.I.Creelman, alias Nigger Foot, as ever having been entered thereon, con-
sequently it is impossible for us to comply with your request so far as
furnishing a photograph is concerned.
It may be possible that he was under some other name when in
this State, which your informant may have some knowledge of, provided of
course he was ever here at all.
Should you get any further light on the subject advise us of
same, and we will do what we can in procurring the picture desired.

Dear Sir: -- I am in receipt of your letter of the 7th, innt., re-
garding the man, J. B. Creelman:
In reply I desire to state that W. I. Creelman, known
here as "nigger foot", is undoubtedly the man you refer to.
DESCRIPTION: - Age 30; height about 5 ft. 5 or 6; weight about 135
to 140 pounds; light brown hair, hazel eyes, peaked face and long nose.
He has a small scar base of left thumb, and several small scars just above
nail of same thumb. He was received at San Quentin prison, this state,
Feb. 17th, 1899 under the name of I. Williams, sentenced to serve 1-1/2
years from San Dieco Co., for burglary. Was arrested in San Bernadino
Co., this state, on charge of robbery, but after three trials was
released. Uses knowckout drops, is an all-round crook, "mac" and "hop-
head". Robber a crib woman here, but no warrant was issued. You can
likely get his picture and description by sending to San Quentin, Cal.
for same. Has a brother "Bob" Creelman, said to be now in Reno,
Nevada, who is most dead with consumption. Both were race track "touts"
but neither owned horses.
