- Mopalia montereyensis Carp.
May 22/62 [1962]
Have compared the 5 specimen
with my nos [numbers] 3405 + 3406.
Though the color is more
obscured + the size much larger,
(60 + 32 skeleton) the
general agreement is with #3406
* that I am calling hindsii [underlined]. The
surface sculpture is the same +
the broad + open indentation between
the ant [anterior] rings of the valves match
perfectly. Color of the scars internally
is variable but the darkest spec [specimen]
is green, whitish at apex. The
others appear blacked but do not
have the pink articulating flanges
of my 3405
The question arises, is my 3406
lignosa [underlined] (montereyensis is supposed
to by syn[?] of lignosa [underlined]) or has the
assignment been made in error
Post [posterior] notch almost non existent
in both montereyensis + my 3406,
but present in 3405.
*On further study my #3406 is lignosa
+ my # 3405 is hindsii [underlined] loenidi[?] [underlined]
