- Glinz Lake (contd [continued])
Rana [underlined] [toad] Several Red-legged frogs
were caught by some of the boy
campers along the outlet stream
Some were of exceptionally large
size (1 was preserved). One
resembled the Spotted frog
in dorsal colour pattern - the dark
spots had light centres, but
the flanks lacked the salmon red
colour characterstic of R. pretiosa [underlined] [Rana pretiosa - Oregon spotted frog].
Hyla [underlined] [tree frog] Young of the year, about
5/8 inch in length were plentiful
at the camp playing field. Larger
individuals were occasionally seen
elsewhere.
Bufo [underlined] [toad] - None was seen
Sunfish [underlined] - Very numerous
yearlings(?), about 2 inches long
exceptionally common along shores;
particularly evident at night.
Larger individuals were seen in the
outlet stream where clear areas of
gravel were observed. Two fish were seen
"on guard" here; apparently spawning season
still in progress.
One specimen preserved.
