- Rana pretiosa [Oregon spotted frog]
June 27/42 [1942] - Lac la Hache -
A large tadpole (of this species?) [inserted as postscript] was collected in swamp
1 mile SE [southeast] of Forbes on point.
Two others were seen but not collected.
June 30 - Two specimens of R. pretiosa
were taken in Anthony Lake in
floating beds of Lemna trisulca [duckweed]
Is this a northern most record? No
July 1st A single fair sized
specimen was taken in fast
running portion of San Jose River
which drains Lac la Hache at about
Mile 128. The frog was sitting on
bank of stream + dove in when distrubed,
preserved in formalin.
July 3rd. A frog of this species (?) was
taken in pond beside the road at
the Rodeo grounds (115 miles). Another
was heard to jump into the water. Two [?] tadpoles
were seen.
July 4th A frog was caught in mouse trap set
alongside 122 Mile Creek. - Preserved.
July 7th Four frogs of this species (?) were
taken at stream 9 miles north of Clinton
