[road] The water in the lake was much higher than found in May of 1936 so that no isolated pools had yet formed. The Phyllopods were most abundant along the water's edge in patches where alga had accumulated around sticks etc. Most females were carrying eggs + many males were seen clasping. A few immature individuals were seen. Large numbers of eggs were in rows along the lake edge just above the water line. Some were collected. Pictures were taken in colour + in Black + white with Graflex camera of whole lake. A sample of water + phyllopods was taken + later a portion of the water was evaporated for analysis.
