- Thurs. [Thursday] June 5 [1941]
Spent A.M. [morning] in lab working on specimens
accumulated since yesterday. Phoned Tranquille
+ spoke to Dr. Jones + Mr. J.R. Mathieson about
proposed trip to Tranquille Lake. After lunch
in town met [George J.] Spencer, [E. Ronald Buckell] Buckle + [Frank] Ward +
drove to cabin at Lac du Bois, stopping
at Batchelor Lake + Poison (Alkali) lake
en route.
Home by 6 + supper at Hodgkins. Rain
commenced as showers + continued in night.
Fri. [Friday] June 6 [1941]
Rain most of day. Spent time in
lab. To town in afternoon to fix
flat tire, see Joe Kendall + get mail.
Evening at [John D.] Gregson's.
Ian [McTaggart Cowan] collected Scaphiopus in pond
near lab at night.
Sat [Saturday] June 7 [1941]
Rain continued in night + morning.
Phoned Dr. Jones at Tranquille to cancell
trip to Tranquille Lake. Dinner at
[John D.] Gregsons; bought supplies + left amidst
rain about 4 P.M. for Lac du Bois
cabin preceded by G.J. Spencer + Ronald
Buckle [Buckell]. Road very slippery + muddy. Stuck
+ forced to put on chains 2 miles below
cabin. Arrived 6 P.M.
