Collected briefly on the outside of Robinson
Island + on the spit connecting. Clams
very abundant at 5 [+/-] ft [foot] tide, a poor fauna
generally.
At low tide (3' [feet]) went up to the outlet of
Bradleys Lagoon, the falls were running
rapidly, water tasted salty. There was
an abundant fauna of marine organisms right
up to the tip of the run out - as far as we
went. Noted Thais lamellosa, Ceratostoma,
Searlesia, Amphissa, Acmaea persona,
A. [Acmaea] testudenalis [underlined], Mytilus edulis, Paphia staminea
Birds, Mammals + reptiles: 12 Band-tailed pigeons, 2 prs. [pairs] Pacific
loon flying in + out of the lagoon.
I am certain I heard a water thrush sing at
Port Progress. Harlequin ducks abundant around
Barren Rock, 2 Ancient murrelets. 45
surf [scoter] + 8 white wings [scoter] all but 2 males.
Heron, Baird cormorants, western sandpipers 30-40
2 Hair seals. 2 Thamnophis sirtalis [underlined]
