- 16 Dish d: 13.4 cm, Kangxi (1662-1722)
This blue and white square shallow dish, with squared off corners and sloping sides, is decorated on the inside with two four-clawed dragons (one rising, the other descending) amidst clouds, contending over a flaming pearl. The rim border has a band of elongated cartouches containing four-clawed dragons. The underside is decorated with floral sprays on the sides and flaming pearls on the squared corners. There is an unusual six-character mark da Ming Chengxi nian zhi, on the base.
17 Large Bowl d: 34.7 cm, Yongzheng (1723-1735)
Based on the Ming heaped and piled style, this large blue and white bowl is decorated at the top with a band of wave scrolls followed by a band of ruyi lappets. The body is painted with six flowering branches of peaches, pomegranates, lotus and peony, below which is a band of large petals. There is a seal script mark of Yongzheng on the base.
