- xxv Pair of Dishes d: 20.1 cm, Yongzheng (1723-1735)
The cavetto of these dishes is covered with an orange glaze. The central medallion of each, decorated with famille verte in the Chinese style, depicts a scholar beside a tree and rock next to a stream. One scholar with a qin (lute) under a pine tree, the other holds a fan under a willow tree. There is a six-character underglaze blue mark of Yongzheng in a double circle on the base of each.
xxvi Seal Paste Box d: 6.1 cm, Qianlong (1736-1795)
While near square in shape, this covered seal paste box has twelve foliated sides. The cover is decorated with a scene of a pavilion on stilts amidst mountains and pines next to a lake. This scene is surrounded by a raised border of red and white with traces of gilt. The sides of the top and bottom are decorated with florettes in blue, green, rose, black and yellow, all on a ground of feathered scrolls of rouge de fer. The interior and base are overglazed with a greenish-turquoise colour characteristic of the late Qianlong period. There is a four-character seal script mark of Qianlong in underglaze blue on the base.
