Parasites ad [adult] [female symbol]
Onchocerca [underlined]: About 10-15 in each leg -
restricted to shank. Mostly in
connective tissue beneath skin
but 6 taken from beneath tendon
sheaths. No sign of reaction
on the part of the host. The areas
of infection are not inflamed even
slightly, no gross sign of
proliferation of tissue at infected
areas.
One worm had a yellowish
appearance + was enclosed in a
denser area of connective tissue
readily separable from the
sur [crossed out] overlying skin. This I removed
+ fixed separately for sectioning.
Also fixed in 10% formal several
pieces of infected skin for sectioning
later. To determine presence of
larvae or nature of any microscopic
tissue reaction.
Oesophagostomum [underlined]
60 individuals - no sign
of lesions in digestive wall.
Trichuris [underlined]
3 [female symbol]'s attached to lining of
cecum. Small red spots at point of
attachment.
