  • Odocoileus. Malahat V.I. [Vancouver Island] Fall 1936. Deer with tumors around the eye - report of Dr. Swailes Mass of white fibrous connective tissue formed as the result of an injury wich [which] left a chronic irritation - it was not a fibroma + had ceased to grow some time before death It was not due to parasites Sooke, V.I. [Vancouver Island], B.C. [British Columbia] March 20, 1938. Yearling doe found in dying condition. Extreme emaciation, diaharhea [diarrhea], slight nasal discharge. Upon examination found lungs clear, liver perfect, spleen very small. One tape worm cyst on gastric mesentery, several small dark spots attached to stomach wall - about 2 dozen of them, specimens saved. No parasites in digestive tract Stomach moderately full of well masticated green herbage of which the only identifiable parts were poplar buds and fir needles. - both numerous. Nasal passages + throat contained 48 bots - all well developed Heavy louse infestation. Large
