  • Uses old rotten sawdust, at stage where it has worms in it it becomes very good, adds bone meal + nothing else. Makes a mat of killed sphagnum + 3/4" wire netting to put over his seed pans sphagnum is not so thick as to exclude all light but it keeps moist + maintains humidity until hatching [word crossed out] germination He finds that with the sawdust base he grows Pedicularis [underlined] very successfully, they seem to adopt the sawdust as host Grafts of Cotoneaster on Mt [Mount] Ash, entire plant wedge or saddle grafted onto the stock July 13-17 to Cambridge Stayed in Garden House hotel, most comfortable, b+b.
