- Holboell Grebe.
July 1, 1936. 10 mile Lake, Quesnel B.C. [British Columbia]
Found nest of 4 eggs, 3 fresh, the
4th slightly incubated. When the
bird left the nest it covered the
eggs with a few bits of weeds.
July 4/36 [1936]. Same.
Found second nest with 4 eggs.
At least there were 3 + a broken
one. I think crows were
responsible. One egg was pipped.
July 5, 1936. same.
Pipped egg had hatched + young
one went off on back of [male symbol]
parent.
Nov. [November] 5/42 [1942] Indian Arm.
Saw a pair of these birds near Dollarton
+ 2 more at Buntzen.
March 21/43 [1943] Sea Island.
