Oct [October] 18, 1936. Esquimalt Lagoon
Saw a single bird sitting on
the logs outside the lagoon. It
appeared to be a sick bird as
it permitted me to approach
to within 10 ft [feet] of it. When it
flew the gulls immediately took
after it.
Dec [December] 1/43 [1943] Vancouver, B.C. [British Columbia]
A flock of 9, believed to be of
this species flew low over our
house today. Geese were heard
above the fog on several occasions
