- Herring Gull.
Ootsa Lake. July 16/36 [1936]
Nesting colony on 2 small islets
on south side of Ootsa Lake almost
opposite Streatham, P.O. [Post Office] Fifteen
gulls there today but we were
unable to land. Geo. [George] Kempple
states that on several occassions [occasions] he
has landed + examined the nest.
Another nesting colony near
head of Eutsuk Lake on a small
rocky Islet.
July 19/36 [1936].
Examined colony on Eutsuk
Lake. Eight nests found, all in
fair state of repair + composed
mostly of grass. Nests set in
crevices of the rock. Several
pairs of adults were present
but no young.
