Varied Thrush
Nov [November] 26, 1935.
These birds are still to
be found in pairs. Birds
seen today were always
associated with a male + female
together + apart from all
others of the genus. A pair
taken had been feeding on
salal berries exclusively
Feb [February] 23, 1936. Lost Lake, V.I. [Vancouver Island] Snowing
Varied thrushes abundant,
feeding exclusively on berries
of arbutus. Not singing yet.
July 19, 1936. Eutsuk Lake, B.C. [British Columbia]
Heard thrushes every day
about timber line near
Surel Creek.
Vancouver B.C. [British Columbia] Sept [September] 24 + Oct [October] 4
Several varied thrush seen.
I wonder if they nested down here.
