- Glaucous-winged gull.
Q.C. [Queen Charlotte] city. Aug. [August] 2/46 [1946].
None followed the boat across the
sound but we picked up a few
near Skidegate. Noted a breeding
colony on a rock off Entrance Island
near entrance to Pacific. Another
on rock near n [north] entrance to
Skidegate inlet. + a possible colony
right at Q.C. [Queen Charlotte] city.
Sandspit. Aug [August] 26/46 [1946].
On our arrival here six days
ago we found large groups of
adult + young g.w-gulls [glaucous-winged gulls] present
on the spit + flooding island.
With them a small number
of herring gulls.
