One sprung trap on the Dorothy
Lake coyote line + one Canada Jay
in the small traps. Heavy rain
today

Nothing touched on the coyote line +
no fresh tracks.
" May 30/46 [1946]
A bear had gone up the line today
+ disturbed 3 sets. A wolf came
down Minago Creek and crossed the
trail without going up our line
Went up the road to Decoigne seeing 4 moose.
" May 31/46 [1946].
One trap missing drag + all + despite
an hour spent in trying to discern
which way the trap went we
were unable to find any sign
further than 20 ft [feet] or so from
the set. Sign suggests that an
ungulate was the culprit. It will
probably have hung up the drag
+ pulled out within a few yards.
Lifted the traps + then went
up the line to Decoigne.
