- Red-Tailed Hawk.
Talbot Lake. May 23/46 [1946].
On the side of Talbot Lake
across from mile 19 found a
red-tails nest about 200 or 300
yards S [south] of the Ospreys nest.
A spruce with a large
witches broom stands almost
on the lake shore as a marker
The nest is in a spruce about 50
yards back from the lake edge.
There were 2 eggs in the nest
today - as seen from an adjacent
tree. A set of climbers would
be essential for climbing the nest
tree.
Jasper. May 29/46 [1946].
Found another red-tails nest. This
one is on the east side of the
big beaver meadow on the Maligne
Horse range right on the trail
that follows along the base of
the hill. Bird incubating when
discovered.
The [word crossed out] May 30/46 [1946]

of this pair is melanistic.
June 12/46 [1946]

enough to see from the ground
