Jasper. May 13, 1946.
Rose at 6 and went to our
coyote traps. One set had been
disturbed by a black bear, and
one by a horse or some other
large animal.
At 9 AM. left by horse for
Buffalo Prairie accompanied by
Frank Bryant. Rode to the wolf
den + then to Wabaso [Wabasso] Lake + back
home by 7 P.M. A long day for
a first day in the saddle + I can
feel it in many places.
Overgrazing on the Prairie
+ ridge behind it is even worse
than on the Devona Hills + the shrubs
+ trees are simply devastated.
Took several photographs to illustrate
various points.
