2 coyotes seen this last week
one on Elysium Pass + one today
at Wigmore summit.
Banff, Alta. [Alberta] July 6, 1946. [1946]
Found a coyote den about 2 1/2 miles
down Settlers road in Kootenay Park.
The den was dug on the flat land
about 150 yards from the river.
It had been a badger digging
enlarged by the coyotes.
We saw a pup about 200 yds [yards]
from the den + pursued it
thus finding the den. The doorway
was heavily packed + scats were
spread in abundance over an
area of several yards. The
only identifiable remains were
the rostrum of a black bear, the
front leg of an elk calf an [and]
feathers of a young crow.
We dug out the den - it
