Rose Harbour. Aug [August] 17/46 [1946].
Sparrows have been very abundant
in the dense chapparal [chaparral] around the
whaling station. They are definitely
a forest edge bird here + are
almost absent from other habitats
All birds seen were heavily in
the moult, both ads. [adults] + yng [young].

A burst of song noted today
at various localities near here.
