- Black Mountain North Vancouver B.C. [British Columbia]
Monday Sept [September] 21./1931
Left the bottom of the hill
at 8:30 P.M. and went up the
trail to about 1/2 mile beyond
the first lake, here we
camped under a fallen log
for the night. About
midnight I was awakened
by a rustling in the food
pack + on switching on
the light found a small
spotted skunk giving me
the once over. Spot a pigmy
owl early in the morning.
Squirrels fairly common. As
we got higher up the trail
we came to where the
fire had recently burnt
over it. I was quite surprised
to find conies + chipmunks
quite common in the area
in + around the edge of the
burn
Made camp by the usual
lake having taken 3 hrs [hours] + 15 min [minutes]
