from S. West on Saturday night
January 30 1887. I found
the following as the Velocity

at Port Angeles 21 Miles
Still it was just double that
in open Straits. I got my
information from the United
States Signal Station at Port
Angeles through Quincey. Or
Brooks Collection Customs
at Port Townsend.

Rock Island Bridge
The first Bridge Across the
Mississippi River was at Rock
Rock Island Island. There were no other
Bridge Erected previous to 1859. There
are now 10 Bridges over the
Mississippi at the following places
"Winona" , "Dubuque", "Clinton"
"Rock Island", "Burlington", "Keokuk"
"Quincey", "Hannibal", "Hastings"
and "St. Louis"
