  • LEFT PAGE 122 Liquid Glue #1 Fill a bottle 2/3 full of common glue, and fill up with whiskey. Cork it up and set it bye for 3 or 4 days. It will dissolve without application of heat #2 Soak in cold water all the best common glue you wish to make at one time, using glass, earthenware or a Liquid porcelain dish. Dissolve in the same Glue water by gentle heat, then add from 1/2 oz [ounce] to 1 oz [ounce] Nitric Acid to each pound of glue, til it gets a sour taste. #3 Acetic Acid 1 oz [ounce]. Pure soft water 6 oz [ounces] glue 3 oz [ounces]. Gum Tragacanth 1 oz [ounce] Mix and if not thick enough add a little more glue. November 11 1871 --- Cleaning Brass 1 Tablespoonfull Oxalic Acid, Cleaning Add 1/2 pint soft water, Add 2 Brass Tablespoonsfull Tripoli.
