Harbor in such bad weather.

Tuesday [Thursday] March 20
From Came in with a light S.E.
Bull Breeze. At 10 A.M got
Harbor under weigh and towed
out of the harbor, having

lain here 7 days, and only 24
to hours dry weather in all that
Newitte time. At 5 P.M. towed into
Ranch Harbor Near Newitte Ranch.
Traded tobacco and Red cloth
for fish.

Came in Calm, with heavy rain
over to from N. East. Cleared up at 8
Shadwell Got under weigh and towed
Pass. around to Shadwell Passage
close to where "Saranae" was lost.
Saw Boiler Etc which are 4 feet
under low Water Mark.

Sunday March 23
at Heavy North Wester. Remained
Shadwell at anchor all day in Shadwell
Pass Passage. 27 days out.

Monday March 24
From Came in calm & [and] fine. At 7 Got
Shadwell under weigh, but could not make
Pass any headway against the strong
to flood tide. At 9 got around
Anchor Cape James and had a good
in S.E. breeze which fetched us to
Safety Cape Calvert at 4 P.M. when
Cove it fell Calm. Towed into
No Safety Cove. Arrived at 8 P.M.
Whales Keeping past Cape Calvert, Kept
So far a look out for any indications
of the lost "Wright" without
any success. This is the most
dangerous Part of the Coast
there being a great many
sunken Rocks.
