Was very unlucky. While sailing
up to Burrard Inlet to load
lumber, under Capt [captain] Pamphlet,
had to cut away her masts off
"Skip Jack Island," to save from
going ashore. Towed back to
Victoria Harbor. Was remasted
and rigged. Went to the
Inlet and loaded. While on
her way down in tow of the
"Maude" under McKinnon, struck
on [blank space]. Was floated off
Was sold at auction to Moody & [and] Co. [company]
Was repaired and sent over to
China and sold.

Lumber laden from Puget Sound
bound for South America.
Went ashore in a gale near
[unreadable struckthorugh] Barclay Sound. Some
of the crew got ashore, but
were killed by the Indians.
vessel and cargo a total loss.
Several Indians were arrested
and taken back to the place & [and] hanged.

Steamer "Pacific"
Built in New York in 1807 of
wood. Side wheel. While bound
from Victoria to Frisco [San Francisco] in 1875
was run into by the Ship Orpheus
Captain Sawyer, and sank at
once. Only 2 people saved.
Over 200 lives lost. Vessel
and cargo a total loss.

Came into collision with the
steamer 'Pacific.' Was only a
little damaged, but was ran
ashore by her Captain in Barclay
Sound. Sold at auction in Port
Townsend to Capt. [captain] Gilbert, but
sunk before she could be wrecked.
Total loss. No Cargo.

Built in Holland. Wooden. Got
ashore in Howe Sound. Was got
off and taken to Burrard Inlet.
Sold at auction to Capt [captain] Thain
Stripped and Broken up.

Iron steamer belonging to Sitka
Ran aashore on Port Edith near
Plumper Pass. Was taken off,
patched up and sent to Frisco [San Francisco],
under Captain Wilson. Repaired
and running to Mexican Ports.
Propellor and small.

Steamer "Transport"
Built on the Sound. Wooden.
Machinery on board but not set up.
Was bound for Frisco [San Francisco] to be fitted
up. Went down under schooner Rig,
with a lumber Cargo. Got swamped
in a heavy gale off Cape Flattery,
and drifted ashore at Point Isabel
near Barclay Sound. All hands
saved. Vessel and Cargo a total
loss. Well insured. Captain
Snow. First Mate Tim Ainsley.
