  • Vulpes fulva [underlined] Jasper, Alta [Alberta] May 10, 1946. At Moberly Flats - took a male fox in coyote sets at an elk carcase [carcass]. Smell violent + quite skunk- like. Stomach contained about 1 1/2 cupfuls of elk carrion. See autopsy sheet [underlined] Jasper. May 18, 1946. Frank Wells reports that two foxes regularly came to his cabin last winter + helped themselves to an elk carcase [carcass] there He once saw a fine cross fox in Tonquin Valley eating a ground- squirrel it had caught.
