At Moberly Flats - took a male fox
in coyote sets at an elk carcase [carcass].
Smell violent + quite skunk-
like. Stomach contained about 1 1/2
cupfuls of elk carrion.

Frank Wells reports that two foxes
regularly came to his cabin last
winter + helped themselves to an
elk carcase [carcass] there
He once saw a fine cross fox
in Tonquin Valley eating a ground-
squirrel it had caught.
