feathered young suggest that
they were hatched on the lake.

Sandpiper, 1 Semipalmated Sandpiper
+ a number of kildeer [killdeer] made
up the shore bird assemblage.
Yellowheaded blackbirds very
abundant, redwings less
common.
Holboell grebes 2 prs [pairs] with
young seen.
The lake has the densest beds
of Chara I have seen anywhere
In the deeper areas the chara
is mixed with Myriophyllum
or replaced by water buttercup
or Potamogeton pusillus + pectinatus
Scirpus acutus + Typha surround
the entire margin.
