This diary was kept while at Monk's Gate Common, England. It has entries about the battalion being put through a mobile gas chamber to test their respirators, lectures about the German army, prisoner of war procedures, map marking, and general training of intelligence personnel, attending courses at Brighton technical college about typing, German language, and shorthand, participating in various exercises and training programs, troop movements, and spending a good deal of time cleaning up the camp, among other activities and information. Includes appendices covering orders, strength returns (daily & weekly), training syllabi, administrative memos, exercises, and march routes.
