Letter from Sir William Orpen to Lady Beatrice Glenavy (Or-24/Or-25/Or-26)
One of a collection of 36 letters all illustrated with ink or pencil sketches. Most are addressed to "Bridgit" from "Dijit". In this letter Orpen complains to Beatrice that he doesn't like the artwork that was used for a Slavonic author's book cover. He includes a rough sketch of that cover. Orpen also draws a re-imagining of the cover art, in colour, of a nude woman looking towards a heart in the sky. Also included is Orpen's self-portrait of being "crowned by the King" with an audience cheering, in colour, underneath he writes "The Earl of Jammet".
