Wills writes a description of this image in a typed caption at the bottom of the page "The Canadian Corps experienced some of its most vicious fighting in September, 1918, and the Arras-Cambrai Road was the scene of much of it. Picture at left, top, shows some of my battery, 58th., moving forward on Sept.2nd. during the capture of of the "impregnable" Hindenburg Line. The road was strewn with bodies of men and horses, trees and broken vehicles and there was a heavy dust in the air..."
