"Barrage for Battle of Amiens, Aug. 8th., 1918" - notes [All in a Lifetime illustrated autobiography chapter Page 64]

Part of the Archie Wills illustrated autobiography. Handwritten notes about the Battle of Amiens. In a type written caption under the notes Archie Wills writes, "This is the original for the opening barrage of No. 2 howitzer commanded by Sergt. Archie H. Wills, in the Battle of Amiens, which signaled the start of the Last Hundred Days and led to the defeat of Germany in the First World War. The barrage was drafted by the headquarters of the 58th Battery, CFA., and Reveille was sounded at 3.30 a.m. and we opened fire at 4.20 a.m. and we kept firing until 6.40 a.m., when we stood down and awaited signal to advance."
