Part of the Archie Wills illustrated autobiography. Archie Wills writes in the photo's caption, "In Toronto on my way home to see Lydia. The chap with me is Wilbert Gardhouse, who was to be my best man at our wedding on Sept. 3rd, 1919. He and I went to Woolwich Military Academy for a six-week course, then did five glorious days in Eastbourne. He was clipped over the eyes when we went through the Hindenburg Line on Sept. 2nd, 1918. Later he was city clerk of Metro-Toronto."
