Nearest colony to camptsite (Forbes) under old community hall. "Came in by way of Barkerville possibly 15 years ago" Forbes as given by McCabe. Ground squirrel [underlined] - Widely spread but not numerous. In Forbes meadow (rockpile); near tent; on Timothy Lake road; at Anthony lake. "Came in about 15 to 16 years afo. Fed to mink in captivity" [Forbes] Skunk [underlined] Common + a nuisance. One female taken in trap July 4 at old community hall. Extremely fat. Porcupine [underlined] Common - Cattle get quills in nose - 2 steers unfit for shipping as result of quills in nose preventing feeding. Lynx [underlined] "Not right here now; used to be when a boy".
