- ii Dish d: 10.5 cm, early Kangxi (1671)
This small dish, painted in underglaze blue and red, is decorated with a landscape in imitation of a Chinese scroll painting. To the left is a ten-character couplet describing the scenery and a seal mark. The scene depicts a scholar crossing a bridge with trees in the foreground and a lake and mountains in the background. The base, with double footrim, has the eight-character mark Kangxi xinhai zhongjie tang zhi, dating it to 1671. The pencil drawn landscape on this dish is the earliest dated example of the Master of the Rocks style.
