Appendix Vermiformis
This is a recepticle formed at the
junction of the large & [and] small intestines,
but its use or object, no physician
Knows. It has been thought to be a
rudimentary or incomplete formation,
or possably some meaningless survival
of a lost anterior type. If any
indigestable seed or other food gets into it,
it nearly always proves fatal. Lately a
man named Duyer died and a piece
of peanut shell was found in the
appendix.
