A hard drill or a file with the

a brace. 2 pints Turpentine
with Camphor in solution to the
glass, and Keep the cavity supplied
A copper tube in a lathe chuck
and Emery and oil makes a round
hole. Cement on a core to fit inside
the tube. Hold a cork pressed
against the glass while drilling.

Mending Cracked Tea pot
Cut a piece of tinfoil the size of
the surface to be soldered, dip a feather
in a solution of Sal Ammoniac, and
paint over the surface of the metal;
then place them in thier proper
position, with the tinfol between;
Keep it so arranged on a piece of
Iron hot Enough to melt the foil. When
cold they will be fastened. This is for
a plated teapot. May 8 1886

Take a band Box with a tightly fitting
lid, in which cut a round hole, 1 1/2
inch diameter. Insert a piece of
smouldering brown paper, until the box is
full of Smoke. A tap on the bottom of
the box will now start a ring from the
hole, which if the surrounding air be at

Counterfeit Trade dollars
A nice one has been discovered in Ohio.
They are composed of Block Tin, Bismuth
and powdered glass. They have the
Exact ring and color of the true ones.
When pressed between the teeth, the glass

Small Pox Remidy
Rectified Spirits of Turpentine is good.
It relieves all itching and prevents
pitting. It should be applied night
and morning by means of a feather
in the proportion of one part Turpentine to
four of olive oil. May 29 1878

A Giant
William Campbell died at Newcastle on
Tyne, aged 26. He stood 6 feet 3 inches
Weighed 728 #bs [pounds], measured 96 inches
around the shoulders, 76 inches around the
breast, 47 round the thigh, 35 round the
calf of the leg. He was the biggest man
in the United Kingdom. July 27 1878
